But wonder no longer, you’ll find out as you continue reading.

I’m even going to show you how to make them.

What do fizzy drinks contain?

Obviously before you try to make something you have to know what it should contain.

Before we start trying to make our fizzy drink we need to know what makes it so fizzy.

Fizzy drinks like coca-cola over here

  • Carbonated water
  • Sugar
  • High-fructose corn syrup
  • Potassium and aspartame
  • Flavorings
  • Coloring
  • caffeine
  • Preservatives

But for your special fizzy drink i think you’ll only be needing the highlighted parts of that list.

Oh yeah and get at least

  • 3 lemons

The reason why fizzy drinks foam up and make that sizzling sound anytime you open or shake them really hard

Is because of the carbonated water contained in it

This carbonated water is made up of carbondioxide ( CO2 ) forced into water at high pressures

So much pressure that they want to get out immediately, they are non polar molecules so they can’t stay in the drink

the only reason why they were stable in the drink anyway was because of the pressure in the can.

so when you open your can of soda you’re jut letting out millions of carbondioxide molecules at high speed

Making that pssst noise you hear all the time

Making Your Fizzy Drink

Instead of using carbonated water, we’ll be using baking soda and water as a replacement.

Here are your new list of ingredients

  • Baking soda
  • 3 Lemons
  • Sugar
  • Water
  • A cup

Now let’s get on to making your own drink

  1. Take a tea spoon of Baking soda and add it into your cup
  2. Take another tea spoon of sugar and add it into the same cup
  3. Squeeze three lemons into the cup
  4. And add a half cup of water

And that’s it, it’s that easy

I know it looks too simple to work but it actually does, you can try yourself and see

Here’s a video from Mel Science showing you how just in case it’s not clear enough
